Default Are we being trained?

It's not a coincidence almost every game you see these days has one thing in common. Violence.

It's been proven that playing say.. a racing game; will activate the same brain functions as when your actually driving. your mind thinks it's real and the same sections of the brain will light up.

So you wonder why all the best looking, most advertised, and most attractive games to play are aimed towards violence? Is it any coincidence the world is so violent? You look at society today, everything in life seems to be geared towards making us generate fear, frustration, anger... fear of survival, having enough money etc.. read some of David Icke's book's to understand that further. There are so many more ways "they" are influencing us besides video games.

I just think it sucks that they are targeting kids at such early ages now, it almost guarantee's a violent and frustrating world. During gameplay your repeatedly sending your brain these signals and genuinely feeling these emotions. It's all mind control and manipulation to basically train us to turn against each other. Pretty much every game of this genre, there is always 2 or more sides warring against each other, separation, division.. Don't fall for it. It's so obvious now, go look up some video's on David Icke. He explains it much better than I do, and I'm just noticing the connection with video games now.

Halo 3, Crysis, Bioshock, Hellsgate: london, Tabula Rasa, Guildwars, WoW, Assassin's creed, Age of Conan, Warhammer online, LOTR online... just thinkin of games off the top of my head and these are the one's that come to mind first, because they are most advertised. These are the one's "they" want you to play. I'm not saying those are the only games in the world but even the seemingly friendly wii games all incorporate this theme of division and competition to destroy each other.

What do you all think? Just coincidence? or something a little more evil at work here?

No...no conspiracy here... >_>

<_<

"they" are listening...shhh!

With all seriousness though, it is easy to see that the POPULAR games are about violence, but I really do not think "they" make violent games to help desensitize and train people to fight/hate/violently compete with other people. It is more of a natural human trait to be drawn to something that is outside of the norm of what we know is right/wrong. Admit it...we all like to rubberneck.

You have it backwards. The world is not/will not be violent because of video games, video games are violent because conflict is--whether you want to believe it or not--part of being human. The world will be violent in the future, just as it is now and has been for every single minute of recorded human history.

By the way, anyone else see in the irony in someone named "African War Lord" posting this? I did.

When the portals of Hell open up we will be ready!

Crowbar (check) Bind to 1
Pistol (check) Bind to 2
Shotgun (check) Bind to 3

Ammo enough for level one (check)

For everything else there is either Master card, or I'll just have to find it.

We're a brainwashed generation, it's hard not to be with all this stuff we're bombarded with in the media.. our food and water.. But you honestly think we are just naturally so aggressive? and we're not manipulated into that mindset at all? You think 9/11 was really a terrorist too? and the resulting increased security all around the world is for our safety? wake up take a look around you, it's called problem, reaction, solution.. Insert a problem, world trade center under attack, reaction from the population is fear, what do we do now? then you offer a solution that is inline with the already existing plan of further control and a new world order. Every war in history was manipulated by a select few that are on the same damn side.

Just think of the possiblity, what if it was designed this way. and then think of why?

When I said they are targeting younger kids, I didn't go into much detail but take a look at wii. it's kiddy and fun looking, promoting active gameplay instead of sitting there like zombies, so parents are sure to choose this for their kids. but in the end, they're gonna get mario and go off into the world killing everything they can hahahah.. it may look cuter but it's still the same system response they are generating.

Just think of atleast the chance there is a possible connection with a kid who shoots up his highschool and the fact he's been playin fps's for awhile now. of course I'm not suggesting it's just video games that would make someone do that. We're stronger than that, that's why we're attacked on so many different levels.

Like I said, the media, try to watch the news for 10 minutes and tell me they are not trying to worry you and instill fear. When I say they, I'm basically talking about the illuminati, the one's in control of pretty much everything you see. Look at all the food additives in packaged foods. Aspartame and MSG are freakin neurotoxins. flouride in the tap water.. "Fluoride is a persistent and non-degradable poison".. it scrambles brain signals.

We aren't being controlled? it's just that humans are naturally angry at each other? animals kill each other for food, I don't see much human in the grocery store. Video games are just one of the latest new ways they are manipulating our minds against each other. I just want more people to wake up and see it.

Then again, since we ban children from even drawing stick figures with guns in school, or pointing a finger and going "bang" and all the other nonsense going on now, are we brainwashing children into mindless pacifists that will just sit by and not take action when it is needed?

GW (and I suppose a lot of other online games) also teach co-operation in group situations. Adult guilds that accept younger members can also help them learn acceptable behaviour in group settings.

It's a game. You can find positives or negatives, depending on YOUR mindset.

***Now, where did I leave that tinfoil***

Ok..lay off the internet for a while. Or you will go blind.
I think you need to get out a bit more often.
You worry about global conspiracies, illuminati, willingly placed poison in our food supply, 9/11 theories a bit TOO much and now tie this all into video games?
If you really, really feel this strong about video game violence, maybe you should contact Jack Thompson for a nice chit chat.

he does not understand how things work. Im sorry but the truth is. "drum roll"

Everything in this world good or bad, right or wrong is about POWER. The money is only a bonus which makes one have more power. (and people do not share power)
now what is a quick way to gain power? Violence
Every war in history has been about power, the power over people, land, water, resources.
What is the reason for wanting power you ask? Simple so others can not tell you what to do.
Power=able to Fear others into doing your will.
It is very similer to religion which is why religion is a joke to begin with what does god do he smites/destroys/floods. Sounds like fear tactics to me. (worship me or I will flood the earth) this method seems very human in nature.
Governments are the same way (pay your taxes/bills or as I like to say (Give us all of your money now)or we will put you in jail)
This is only a few examples of power through Violence.

Doubtful. Most people like being violent in some way, and video games pander to that. My super-ego restricts me from crow-barring the police, but I get my fill in Half Life 2

A little bit off topic, in around '03, there were a lot of games and movies portraying North Korea as a target, and the original Mercenaries was interesting in that regard.

something that the OP fails to understand is that humanity has long had violent tendencies before video games where even the twinkle in some one's eye.

Also what Hermet says is true...every war on this planet has been over power.

For all our wisdom we have failed to solve the problem many problems in this world and have opted to figure out how to kill things faster.

"Hey lets figure out a way to feed the starving children around the world"
"Nah what for...lets figure out a better way to make thinks go boom!"
"OK!"

Lets face it the human animal for all our technology and innovation are as still no better than the poo throwing chimps at the zoo.

Don't blame video games for the way kids are acting blame the parents, who adopted the "Its OK to yell at me and act the way you do" technique of "Time Outs"...all these kids need is a good ol' fashioned spanking every time they act like dumb asses.

Wrong. But continue. That's the Clausewitzian theory of it being the continuation of politics.

Explain the Easter Island exterminations and the wars fought by the Aztecs?

The Easter Island exterminations..your telling me people fighting over what ever resources where left on the island after years and years of raping its resources and doing nothing to replenish them wasn't a power struggle?

The Aztecs???.....now I know your you pulling my leg....

I have a snow day off from work and I just finished reading a good book and it got me thinking of some things so I thought I'd share them. I'm merely noticing another way (video games) "they" are programming our minds. I'm not asking you to believe me, just hopefully read what I had to say, form an opinion and do whatever you want.

Am I thinkin about the conspiracy stuff too much? yea probably, and your right I should just forget about it. But it's interesting to me, finding out what's really going on in this world and not just believing blindly what I'm told by television and school teachers. All just repeating a message, but where's this message coming from?

here's a good quote

"Just look at us. Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information and religions destroy spirituality."

"Why? Because they're meant to."

It's that kinda stuff that got me thinkin, damn video games sure are gettin violent these days.. and I formed my opinion about why.

and your contradiction to what I said is what? lol.. you are just under the impression that the people that want the power are the ones you can see on the media. War may be about power but not the power of those countries involved. they are just puppets.
